He is an active trainer of Filipino Computer Club - Dubai with over 17,000 graduates since he joined in 1996 and of Overseas Pinoy Professional Photographers Society with over 1,000 graduates since its foundation in 2003 - truly a dedicated and very active Filipino community leader in Dubai.

He graduated at Mapua Institute of Technology on March 1986 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering and passed the E.C.E. Board examinations on September of the same year. He undertook a college re-entry course at Access Institute of Computer Technology in Cubao, QC and earned a Diploma as Computer Engineer in 1988.

He is now a licensed professional in database driven website development using various languages such as HTML, JavaScripts, Flash animation, SQL, ASP, .NET and implementing other dynamic pre-built applications using pHp and MySQL. He has excellent skills in network administration and has vast knowledge in software development and digital imaging.

He designed and implemented a training program for Web Development using HTML at Filipino Workers Resource Center (FWRC) in the year 2000, and later introduced others such as Flash animation and Java scripting. He has conducted several short workshops in ‘Scanning Photographs for the Web’ and organized a well-attended four-hour seminar on ‘Web Fundamentals for Internet Enthusiasts’ held at Inter-Continental Hotel on May 2001 with more than 180 participants.

Career

He was a service engineer at SHARP (Office Automation), component level troubleshooter and technical supervisor for almost 10 years (6 years in Manila and 4 years in Dubai) before he joined Inter-Consort Mercantile & Investment in Dubai as Senior Engineer and Network Administrator in MS Windows and MS Exchange Server environment that lasted for six years.

In 2004, he decided to start on his own and became an authorized TECOM Partner as WEB DEVELOPER with office at Dubai Media City. Since then he has been providing services in Professional Website Development, Online Database Applications, Email Solutions, Email Marketing, Digital Imaging and other Internet Related Business Development solutions. His clients includes Dubai Duty Free, DOM International, Grant Thornton International, PATCHI, Yamaha Motors ME, Siemens, Geberit, Dubai International Bowling Center, British Business Group, Forever Living Products and many more small to medium size businesses in UAE among others.

He was the Art Director of the 40-page Philippine Independence Day 2005 Souvenir Programme in Dubai that was assigned to OPPPS. He produced three 28-page souvenir programmes for free HTML Web Design courses. He was also involved in the production of 2001 & 2002 souvenir programmes for Philippine Independence Day as well as the newsletters of the Filipino Computer Club in Dubai and a special newsletter edition crafted by Filipino Clubs in Dubai and Northern Emirates and dedicated to former Labor Attaché Carmelita Arriola.

He created the extremely popular Overseas Filipino Workers Web Portal www.ofwzone.com and developed several Filipino Community websites in previous years such as www.oppps.com, www.aguman.com, www.fccdubai.com, www.babalikkarin.com, www.lightform.org, www.dfbc-uae.com, www.zablan.com, www.philippinebusinessdubai.com, www.fcplworld.com and www.caddgroupdubai.com.

He is actively involved in providing free computer training to Overseas Filipino Workers in UAE since 1997. A well-experienced and highly-qualified computer trainer, he currently has been designated as the Professional Development Committee Chairman of the Filipino Computer Club - Dubai.

With his team of professional trainers, he launched advanced courses and workshops exclusively for FCC members such as MS Access core and Intermediate, Oracle SQL, Network Administration, Macromedia Flash, Photoshop for the Web, Oracle PL/SQL and PC Hardware Configuration & Assembly among others.

He is married to Eng. Cherry Pye Zablan and they have an equally talented nine-year old son Collin Dayle Z. Torres who shares his parents' passion for computers.
